Hip Young Parent in the Wall Street Journal

I am so excited to share that HYP Radio was featured in today's WSJ commentary on children's music!

...Across the country, in Los Angeles, Amy Trulock streams children's music on her Web site, Hipyoungparent.com. Ms. Trulock, 31, gives Barney his due--"he gets kids to clean up their rooms, I would never put him down"--but says that she doesn't want her nieces to graduate from Sesame Street to Britney Spears.

"My two rules are 'No Barney, No Britney,' " Ms. Trulock said. "There's an overabundance of children's music, and not all of it's good. Because I don't have my own kids, I have the freedom of time, and I hope I can help by wading through it." The Hip Young Parent site offers lullabies at night and rock, jazz and other genres during the day (a recent presentation was the "Sixty Minute Science Singalong"), and welcomes music from independent artists. "Right now I'm looking for a good version of 'Wheels on the Bus,'" Ms. Trulock said.
